This is a sub-tropical fruit. It has a custard white flesh with black seeds. The seeds are not eaten. Upon opening a Cherimoya fruit, your senses will pick up the sweet floral scent of vanilla and banana. The flavor is a blend of pineapple, papaya, vanilla, pear, strawberry and mango.
How to eat a cherimoya fruit
We ship cherimoya unripen or it should be close to ripening up by the time you receive it. It may be ripe enough to eat right away. Please refrigerate the ripened fruit if not consuming it immediately. If the fruit has not fully ripened (hard to the touch), you can leave it out at room temperature or leave it somewhere with a warmer temperature to help it ripen up. Don’t forget to check on your fruit daily while it ripens. When a cherimoya can easily be broken in half with your hands, then it should be ripe enough to eat. Do not eat the black seeds, just the white creamy flesh. Try eating it cold from the refrigerator.
