Atemoya is a hybrid of the sugar apple and cherimoya fruit. The defining difference is the more spike-like skin. The taste is similar to a Pina Colada with hints of vanilla flavor.
How to eat an atemoya fruit
We ship atemoya unripen or it should be close to ripening up by the time you receive it. It may be ripe enough to eat right away. Please refrigerate the ripened fruits if not consuming it immediately. If the fruit has not fully ripened (hard to the touch), you can leave it out at room temperature or leave it somewhere with a warmer temperature to help it ripen up. Don’t forget to check on your fruit daily while it ripens. When atemoya can easily be broken in half with your hands, then it should be ripe enough to eat. Do not eat the black seeds, just the white creamy flesh. Try eating it cold from the fridge.
